**Two Earthquakes Strike Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla District**
Two earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.9 and 4.8 struck Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district early Tuesday morning, causing panic but no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
First Earthquake
The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale, struck at 6:45 am at a depth of 10 kilometers, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. Its epicenter was located in Baramulla district, about 55 kilometers north of Srinagar.
Second Earthquake
The second earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8, occurred just minutes later, at 7:02 am. The NCS reported that it had a depth of 5 kilometers and was centered in the same area as the first earthquake.
No Immediate Reports of Damage or Injuries
Despite the strength of the earthquakes, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. However, authorities are still assessing the situation and urging residents to be cautious.
Advice to Residents
Residents of Baramulla district are advised to remain calm and follow these safety measures:
