Brooklyn Teenager Accused of Stealing $1 Million in Cryptocurrency

Teen Allegedly Stole Identities of 75 People

A Brooklyn teenager has been accused of running an identity theft scheme in which he allegedly stole cryptocurrency worth over $1 million. The teen, who has not been identified because he is a minor, is alleged to have stolen the identities of 75 people and used their information to access their cryptocurrency accounts. He then allegedly transferred the stolen cryptocurrency to his own accounts.

Teen Used iPhones to Hack into Cryptocurrency Accounts

The teen allegedly used an arsenal of iPhones to hack into the cryptocurrency accounts of his victims. He is said to have used a variety of methods to obtain the victims' personal information, including phishing scams and social engineering. Once he had access to their accounts, he allegedly transferred the stolen cryptocurrency to his own accounts.

The teen's alleged scheme was disrupted by the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office Virtual Currency Unit. The unit was able to track down the teen and seize his assets, including the cryptocurrency that he had allegedly stolen. The teen has been charged with grand larceny and identity theft, and he is currently being held on $1 million bail.
