City Cruises Through Champions League Round 16 First Leg

Dominant Performance in Denmark Nets 6-2 Aggregate Advantage

Manchester City has made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a comfortable 3-1 victory against FC Copenhagen, giving them a 6-2 aggregate lead. Goals from Manuel Akanji, Julián Álvarez, and Erling Haaland were enough to secure the win, despite a late goal from Copenhagen's Mohamed Elyounoussi.

City dominated the match from the start, with Akanji heading home a cross from Kevin De Bruyne to give the visitors the lead after 11 minutes. Álvarez doubled the advantage just before the hour mark, finishing off a clever pass from Haaland. Haaland himself got on the scoresheet 10 minutes later, volleying home a cross from Riyad Mahrez.

Copenhagen pulled one back through Elyounoussi, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal. City held on comfortably for the rest of the match, with goalkeeper Ederson making a couple of routine saves to secure the clean sheet.
