Ajax crash kills 2, closes eastbound lanes on Highway 401

Ajax, ON – A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Ajax has left two people dead and the eastbound lanes of the highway closed.

The crash happened before 9 am Monday morning when a tractor-trailer rolled over and struck the median of the highway. The tractor-trailer then burst into flames, blocking all lanes of the eastbound highway.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have not yet been identified.
