Borussia Dortmund Werder Bremen Highlights

Borussia Dortmund Stumble at Home, Surrender Two-Goal Lead in Dramatic Draw

Matchday 3 Delivers Thrilling Encounter in Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund's promising start to the Bundesliga season hit a roadblock on Saturday as they surrendered a two-goal lead late in the game against SV Werder Bremen.

Erling Haaland, the Norwegian star striker, put Dortmund ahead in the 29th minute with a clinical finish. Just before halftime, Marco Reus doubled their advantage with a stunning long-range strike. Dortmund appeared to be cruising to victory heading into the final stages of the match.

However, Werder Bremen mounted a stunning comeback in the dying minutes. Substitute Marvin Ducksch pulled one back for Bremen in the 89th minute, giving his team a glimmer of hope. Just three minutes later, veteran striker Niclas Füllkrug equalized with a powerful header, silencing the Signal Iduna Park crowd.

The draw leaves Borussia Dortmund in sixth place in the Bundesliga standings, while Werder Bremen climb to 12th place. The result is a major disappointment for Dortmund, who were hoping to make a statement after losing their opening match of the season against Bayer Leverkusen. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, will take confidence from their spirited performance.

"It's a frustrating result for us," said Dortmund manager Edin Terzic. "We were in complete control for most of the game, but we made some key mistakes at the end. We need to learn from this and bounce back in our next match."

Werder Bremen manager Ole Werner praised his team's fighting spirit. "I'm incredibly proud of the players," he said. "They showed great character and determination to come back from two goals down. This result will give us a lot of confidence going forward."
